I'm having an issue with my tattoos

I was hired by a tech company, working admin stuff and everything was going well. I passed all the interviews, they were happy and everything was golden. The problem happened during the last meeting where they outright mentioned that if I wanted to work I'll have to cover my tattoos. I have a few of those on my right forearm, they're small, but they're visible, so they said that I'll need to come to work wearing long sleeves. Just to mention, my job doesn't involve working with clients or interacting with them, so what's the deal with this?

While it might seem old fashioned, some companies still have policies about visible tattoos in the workplace as part of their overall professional image. Scan through your hiring paperwork or employee handbook to see if there's anything specific about dress code or appearance policies that you might have missed. Did they explain their reasoning beyond just maintaining a certain image? Understanding their perspective can help you decide how you want to proceed. @keyboardwarrior87

You know, you're absolutely spot on,lots of companies still have those old-school rules about visible tattoos because they want to uphold a specific professional vibe. Have you considered reaching out to HR? They might be open to discussing your situation or even making some adjustments that could work for you.

Its ridiculous if your job is all admin and no client contact, they have zero reason to police your tattoos. It's just outdated corporate nonsense trying to control how you look for no valid reason
