I was just talking to my sister, and she's been telling me some crazy stories from her early days working in law. She's seen some posts today about lawyers being hard on paralegals, and it brought up some pretty awful memories for her.
She once got called a bull dike by a lawyer just because she wasn't wearing makeup to work.
The same guy, when she was interning, got so mad that she couldn't get information about something, he threw a stapler right at her head.
On top of that, he invited her and a bunch of other underage girls to a "business meeting" where local owners were wined and dined. It became clear they were expected to be escorts for the night. She threw a fit and walked out.
And apparently, there's more. It's just wild to me. Has anyone else experienced anything this bad? Is it common for something like this to happen to a new worker? I'd love to hear your stories, too, and maybe how you guys handle this
