My attorney just asked me to set up a virtual appearance for an upcoming hearing, and honestly, I'm drawing a blank. This is my first time dealing with anything like this, and I'm also not exactly a tech whiz, so the idea of handling all the virtual logistics is making me sweat a little. Also, confirm your camera, mic, and internet are good to go, and find a quiet, simple spot.

Most importantly, did your lawyer send the link and instructions? If not, chase that down ASAP.

The format is different but the core principles is the same so don't sweat it too much!
As @MotionCommotion mentioned, your attorney is your best resource for the court's specific rules and guidelines for virtual appearances, including how to handle exhibit submission.
If for some reason they don't have it immediately, you can usually find these details on the court's website.
For the tech side, what's super helpful is doing a trial run with your attorney or anyone else involved.
That's your chance to test not just your internet connection, mic and camera, and also practice presenting any exhibits you might need to share on screen.
Getting comfortable with the platform beforehand will make a big difference!
