Not my best days

After 35 years as a paralegal, I was just put on a 30-day performance plan for low billables. I've been struggling with possible ADD and just started the process to get evaluated, though I can't take Adderall due to high blood pressure. The firm says they want me to stay and are being supportive, so I'm doing my best to get back on track. Just needed to vent for a second—trying to reset and figure out how to stay more organized.

That's a frustrating situation and it's great that your firm is being supportive while you get evaluated. You could try implementing a digital Kanban board system like Trello or Asana to track every task for every case visually. What part of your daily workflow currently creates the most disorganization for you?

Thanks, the support really does help. The biggest issue for me is juggling shifting priorities across cases, stuff gets lost between emails and notes. A visual tool like Trello might actually make a big difference. Thanks for replying

Makes sense as a point of friction in a busy practice. Many of the visual tools have an email-to-board feature that can immediately turn a new request into a task card. Does your firm have any specific policies about using 3rd party applications to manage case information?

First off, hats off to the company that's so supportive, most companies these days will probably try to get rid of you and replace you with someone else.

A tracker tool will definitely be of great help and it would also be a good idea to chunk your day into blocks, for example 2 hours for one thing, then the next 2 for something else etc. Having supportive colleagues can be of great help, so utilize it.

Hope you turn this thing around!
