How much do you manage your attorney’s inbox

I'm really interested in how other offices handle this situation. Sometimes, when I don't have contact info, I end up bypassing the assistant when I send documents to opposing counsel. I try calling, but honestly, I often just get frustrated waiting for someone to answer. Then my attorneys end up inundated with emails weeks later, complaining that their assistant missed the document because they weren't cc'd or notified. It's a chaotic cycle, right?

I'd love to know how you all manage this. Do you keep track of your attorney's inbox for them, or do they take care of everything on their own? I'm really curious to learn how other firms deal with it.

I remember this from a conversion with my ex gf. They often ended up chasing their tails and unorganized so what they ended up douing is setting some sort of a tracking system and remained consistend to it. In addition to that, she was given full access to all inboxes and her job turned into a management role.

In my office, we usually try to get the assistant's contact upfront to avoid missing anyone, but when that's not possible, I make sure to follow up directly with the attorney or send a quick heads up email

This is so true, I do the same. If we haven't worked with someone before, I just send documents straight to the attorney and assume and hope they'll loop in their assistant. One time, a grumpy attorney replied in all caps, "PLEASE COPY MY ASSISTANT ON ALL CORRESPONDENCE," and I was just like, dude, chill!
