Asking for a raise

I've been working as a paralegal at a mid-sized firm in LA for about 2.5 years now. I started out with a decent salary, but my responsibilities have grown a lot. I'm planning to ask for a raise soon and I would like to know what's considered a reasonable bump in pay for someone in my position? A percentage or whatever you have in mind. Any tips on how to approach the conversation, too? Thanks!

A typical increase is usually around 5 to 10 percent. It's a good idea to look into the salary ranges in your area, jot down any new responsibilities you've taken on, and gather some concrete examples of how you've contributed when you make your request
